Season 2, Bonus
Small Plate: A Kiddo Makes Banana Bread
MEET THE KIDDO
This is Conner. In this photo, he was 4. Today, he’s 6 1/2. He loves to eat sweets — and to bake. And he loves talking.
So, in today’s Small Plate bonus episode, Conner gets to combine two of his favorite activities. For Banana Bread Day (Feb. 23), Conner’s going to take you through how to make this delicious snack.
Here’s the recipe we used: Banana Bread – Food Network.
Get out your ingredients, and follow along with us.
And we have a special challenge for you: Record the audio of your experience. (We just used the Voice Memos app on our phone.) It could be a fun keepsake for you to listen to in the future. AND if you’re willing, we’d love to hear a clip of you and your kiddo in the kitchen. You can send it to us at Stephanie@KiddosCook.com. We might even use your audio in an upcoming episode!

Our favorite quotes from the episode
“In our time together, he worked on reading, specifically how to read a recipe. He did a little math, and he was actively engaged in the kitchen. He cracked eggs, smashed bananas, measured dry ingredients, operated the mixer, and helped to transfer the batter into the pan. Looking back, my greatest error was in letting him leave the kitchen without helping to clean up. But, and I can't stress this enough, the most important thing is we spent time together and had some fun.”
